The Davitt Award

The Davitt Award is given out each year by Sisters of Crime Australia for the best crime novel by a woman and published in Australia in book form in the previous year. The award is named in honor of Ellen Davitt (1812-1879) who wrote Australia's first mystery novel, Force and Fraud, in 1865.
